Halloween in Stella 🎃
Calling all little ghosts, goblins and ghouls! On Saturday, October 31, the village of Stella is the place to be for trick-or-treating. The Back Kitchen is staying open late to join in, along with several of our neighbours around the village.
At The Back Kitchen: 5pm until after dark
We’ll be open as long as little ghouls are still roaming the village, probably until about 9pm.
- Halloween food specials for the grown-ups doing all the walking
- Cake pops from Delta Pop Co., made right here on the island, for the first 50 trick-or-treaters through our door
- A few more spooky surprises, still in the works
- Rain or shine: warm up inside the café or out in our backyard gazebo
Trunk-or-treat in our parking lot
Island residents are welcome to hand out treats from the trunks of their cars. Park in our lot or out front, decorate your trunk, and enjoy the evening with your neighbours. It’s a great way to join in if you don’t live along the trick-or-treat route.
Around the village
- Neilson Store Museum & Cultural Centre (5pm until after dark): goodie bags for trick-or-treaters, hosted by the Three Witches
- Amherst Island General Store (5pm until the ghouls go home): open late with treats for the kids
- Amherst Island Fire Station (6pm to 9pm): trick-or-treating at the station. For the past two years the firefighters have parked the trucks at Centennial Park. That isn’t confirmed yet this year, so check our events page for updates.

Our last weekend of the season
Halloween weekend is also our final weekend of 2026. Sunday, November 1 is our last day before we close for the winter.
This weekend’s hours:
- Friday, October 30: 12–7pm (Last chance for Fish Fryday!)
- Saturday, October 31: 11am until after dark (Halloween fun from 5pm)
- Sunday, November 1: 11am–7pm
To everyone who came by for donuts, fish and chips, or just a coffee and a chat in the gazebo: thank you. As a volunteer-led, not-for-profit café, we exist because of this community, and you showed up for us all season long. Come see us one more time before we hibernate!
