Come celebrate Canada Day with your neighbours! Here’s what’s happening around the Island:
🍦 Free Ice Cream at The Back Kitchen
2:00–4:00 PM (or while supplies last)
Thanks to the Handy Fairies and the Amherst Island Women’s Institute, we’re giving away free scoops at BK! Swing by for a sweet treat and say hi.

🚗 Parade & Evening Celebration
Brought to you by the Loyalist Township Community Event Grant and the Amherst Island Rec Association.
6:30 PM - Parade Marshalling at St. Alban’s Church. All entries welcome: floats, walkers, cyclists, tractors, golf carts!
7:05 PM - Parade kicks off, ending at the Community Centre
After the Parade - Community BBQ & Celebration. Free hot dogs, cotton candy, snow cones, music by The Islanders, open mic, photo ops with the ferry floats, and a fun selfie booth.
🎆 Fireworks at Dark
Fireworks start at around 9:15 PM at the school. Bring a chair or blanket and settle in for a classic island fireworks display. Fireworks are timed so that mainland visitors should be able to catch the 10 PM ferry home.
🎶 Waterside Summer Music Series
World-class classical music, right here on Amherst Island. The Waterside Summer Series brings celebrated musicians to the intimate and acoustically stunning St. Paul’s Church. It’s a magical way to spend an afternoon - but why not make a full day of it?
All concerts begin at 3:15 PM, and the 2:30 ferry from the mainland gets you there just in time. But for a more relaxed visit, catch an earlier ferry (12:30 or 1:30) and spend a little extra time exploring the island.
