Loyalist Township invites you to a Public Information Centre (PIC) for the Upcoming Reconstruction Stella 40-Foot Road & Front Road on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

This hybrid event will be held in person at Amherst Island Fire Hall, 955 Stella 40-Foot Road, and via Zoom. Residents are encouraged to join us to review and discuss the project. A recording of the presentation will be made available afterwards on the Engage Page. As part of the project, Loyalist Township will be re‑paving parts of Stella 40‑Foot Road & Front Road, as well as constructing new sidewalks and replacing existing sections within the Village of Stella. Drainage improvements and some traffic calming measures within the Village of Stella are also planned.

Draft Drawings for the project will be available, and Township staff will be on hand to discuss, answer questions, and address concerns.

Project Highlights: The proposed scope of the work includes:

• Installation of sidewalks from the Amherst Island Ferry Docks into the Village of Stella creating a safe pedestrian corridor to and from the docks.
• Reconstruction of the road & sidewalks in the Village of Stella from Neilson Store to Amherst Island Public School to meet current accessibility standards.
• Drainage upgrades in the project area to improve the management of stormwater runoff.
• Finally, different options for traffic calming measures in the village will be presented for feedback.
